The Light the Beam Chant is used by fans of the Sacramento Kings of the NBA to win the game and light the purple beam. The chant is used encourage the Kings to win or in celebration of the victory.

What is Light the Beam?
After every Sacramento Kings win, a purple beam is shot from the roof of the Golden 1 Center, the home arena for the Kings, into the sky. The beam generates great joy among Kings’ fans and the basketball community.
“There is a literal floodlight that’s purple shot into the air on top of the kings arena every time they win that can be seen like the god damn bat signal across the city bringing hope to the hopeless.”

The chant is rather basic and used to both fire up the team and celebrate victory.
